The Bradshaw: a local club, one tap from a call
The Bradshaw Conservative Club is a members' club on Lea Gate in Harwood, Bolton, where members and non-members are welcome. We designed and built its website so people can see the club, then call or get directions in one tap.

The club, and what the site had to answer
The Bradshaw has three spaces under one roof: the main bar upstairs with a pool table, dartboard and big screens, a snooker room with two full-size tables, and a function room on the ground floor with its own bar. There's cask ale on handpump, live sport on Sky Sports and TNT Sports, and pub food from Friday to Sunday.
The function room holds around 70 guests, and room hire is free for members, so people planning a birthday, christening or wake need to know it's there and how to check a date.
So the site had to answer what people ask a local club: is it open, what's on, can I book the room, and how do I get there. On a phone, each answer should end in a call or directions.
What we built, and why
Four pages: Home, About, Food and Contact. Everything below is on the live site.
Call and Directions, always in reach
On a phone, a bar along the bottom of the screen holds Call and Directions on every page. The number is a real tap-to-call link and Directions opens Google Maps at the club.
The three rooms, up front
The bar, the snooker room and the function room, each on a card with a photo, a line about it and a link to more on the About page, so people see the place before they walk in.
The function room has its own pitch
"Planning a celebration?" says what the room is for, how many it holds and that hire is free for members, then gives two buttons: call, or an email that opens with "Function room enquiry" already in the subject.
Opening times for every day
A plain table of the hours from Monday to Sunday, next to the address and a Get directions button.
What's on stays on Facebook
The club's Facebook page is the place to check for live sport and events, so the site links there instead of keeping a list that would go out of date.
Warm, and quick to load
Dark tones with brass and cream, and the phone's own fonts, so the text shows straight away without waiting for a font to download.
