Ultimate Oasis: built around their own LED logo

Ultimate Oasis is an Oasis tribute band based in Manchester, playing festivals, clubs, weddings, parties and pubs across the North West and further afield. We designed and built their website, and we host it.

The band, and what the site had to do

Ultimate Oasis play festivals and town events, clubs, weddings, corporate events, birthdays and private parties, and pubs. Most of their gigs are in the North West, they travel nationwide, and they can bring their own PA and lights.

They've played Glaston-Bury, Bury's town festival, the Supersonic Bar in Wrexham, The Venue in Bolton and plenty of other venues, and they already had their own LED-style logo.

So the site had to look like a night out with the band, show where they've played and where they're playing next, and make it easy for someone with a date in mind to ask if they're free and what it would cost.

What we built, and why

One page, made from their own logo and gig photos. Everything below is on the live site.

  • Their own logo, sharp on any screen

We didn't redesign the logo. We redrew their own file one dot at a time, so it stays sharp on any screen, and when the page opens it boots up with a scan and a flicker, like an LED sign.

  • The stage, full screen

The first thing you see is the band on stage, filling the screen on a computer and with a portrait photo on a phone, and one line saying what they are and where they're from.

  • Check your date, not a phone number

The first screen has two buttons, "Check your date" and "See us live". The number is still there, in the booking section, alongside email, WhatsApp and Facebook, each one tap.

  • Where they've played, on an LED scroller

Venues roll past in the same dotted lettering as the logo. The scroller pauses when you touch or hover over it, so the names can be read.

  • Coming up in 2027

A plain list of dates and places, ending in "Got a date in mind? Check if we're free."

  • Motion that doesn't get in the way

The animations are done in CSS alone, and they switch off for anyone whose phone or computer is set to reduce motion. The page is complete without them.

The "Played at" section on a computer: venue names in large dotted LED-style lettering scrolling across the screen, above a photo of a big crowd in Bury town centre.
Where they've played, on a computer: the LED scroller above a crowd photo from Glaston-Bury.
The "Coming up in 2027" section on a phone: seven dates with their venues or towns, ending in "Got a date in mind? Check if we're free."
